because this has gotten me in trouble a few times, i have put this explanation on my website

i dont care about your art attributions; i will not treat your copyright as a higher law

art is transcendental and deserves an appropriate respect

i will attribute when i want others to know about you; i will give you money if you ask for it

but i will not "pay" for your art because there is no such thing

you can pay for a canvas with pigment on it, you can pay for the services of a painter, you can pay for access to a high resolution download of a png image, but you cannot pay for something transcendental like art

i will not follow these "politeness" rituals we do such as attributing an artist every time i share an image of art and linking "the source"; such behavior, i believe, gets in the way of artistic expression and is disrespectful to art

from the beginning of time, we have created art for arts sake and its passed from creature to creature with a life of its own, and thats beautiful and good

if you believe your "livelihood" (income, financial security, etc) rests on the "sale of art", you have been brainwashed by the lords of the land who wish to convince us all that "art" is a "commodity" (for the usual dehumanizing parasitic reasons)

some day, we will have universal income and this ugly drama will cease to exist; until then, let us all with money to spare give to those in want, and all in want, find the humility to ask for money; let us move away from living solitary, consumerist lifestyles and share what we have with each other; we do not need excuses to give to one another

"Art is far more powerful than our plans for it."
